Disclaimer

The practice items (questions and responses) were developed by a committee of  WOCNCB certified nurses. All of the volunteer committee members' access to the WOCNCB exams was strictly through their own certification and recertification processes. The multiple choice questions were based on case scenarios commonly seen in daily practice across the acute care, outpatient, and home health care settings and are meant to engage the WOCNCB exam candidate in a pre-exam review.

The items were developed by utilizing the WOCNCB Detailed Content Outlines (available online at WOCNCB.org) and the Technical Guidelines produced by the testing agency, Meazure Learning. Each query item has a stem and a well-defined focus point. Distractors or "smoke" in a question are relevant because clinical presentations are not consistently "text book" or clearly defined. Always look for the most correct and consistent response found in the answer choices.

Three types of exam questions are presented: Recall, Application, and Analysis.

All of the skills defined in the Detailed Content Outlines are covered in at least one of the questions.

It is impossible to cover all of the content of a certified wound, ostomy or continence care nurse in any set of flashcards; therefore the learner should use the Detailed Content Outlines and the Flash Card questions to assist them in defining areas where additional study is needed.

USAGE OF THESE CARDS IS INTENDED AS A RESOURCE AND WILL NOT
GUARANTEE YOU WILL PASS THE EXAM.
