How often do you update the website? Our organization requires verification via this website and once certified in all three scopes my employee meets criteria to move into another position. The WOC passed ostomy in the beginning of March and continence yesterday

There is typically up to a 4-week lag time after testing for the information to display on our website verification. However, there is a 6-week delay at this moment. We are able to verify credentials immediately upon passing exams, and you may contact our office directly by phone or email.

I am looking at the Academic education (per course) - Professional Practice option for 10 points. I found an online option for a Medical Spanish course and cannot tell if this counts as an "accredited college or university". Their website states "This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commision on Accreditation. 25 Contact Hours Can this class be used for my PGP? https://www.medicalspanish.com/courses/hospital-nurses/continuing-education.html

Question:
Regarding PGP points. Is category 3 Teaching/Research/Writing/Volunteering/Projects required in order to recertify? If so how many points from this category are required? If its not required please confirm that recertification can be achieved through practice hours and continuing education. I work full time as a CWON. I last recertified in 2023 and considering the PGP instead of retesting in 2028. Thank You!

The PGP portfolio does Not require points from Category 3, no. You could have a portfolio with CE and practice hours and submit it for approval for achieving recertification.

Hello, I completed the 2022 Ostomy Education Day presentations after the date they were offered live. When entering the "activity date", do I enter the date of the Ostomy Education Day or the date I completed them? Thank you.

You may enter the date you completed them online, since this is what is likely to show as the date of completion on the CE certificate.

Question:
I am renewing my CWCN-AP. I am realizing that my dashboard is only titled "Dashboard". From the sample in the handbook, it appears different. It is titles "APP Dashboard" and has the unassigned box. How do I correct this option?

Question:
I am recertifying my CWCN-AP. When accessing the pgp.wocncb.org website; I'm not finding where to document the category 3 requirements. I also want to confirm that for category 3 points, I can earn them with extra CEs and Practice Hours only.

When you are inputting them, you will click 'Add New Activity' and from the drop-down list, Category 1 for CE is listed first on the list, Category 2 for Practice Hours is listed second on the list, and since everything else is in Category 3, those activities are then listed in alphabetical order. Such as "volunteer work" will be near the end alphabetically. For additional or specific questions, please refer to the AP handbook or call the WOCNCB office. Thanks !

Question:
I have 888 practice hours in Ostomy. From the portal it appears I can only enter 500, or 1000 hours. I am unable to select both 500 and 250 hours to get closer to what I have done. Please advise.

You may enter two items in the portfolio, separately. One entry for 500, and another activity for 250.

Question:
Hello, I am a CFCN with about 100 continuing ed hours approved by the ABC O&P - American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics. I am also a Certified Pedorthist. These hours are directly related to both my CFCN and my CPED ]specialty. I would like to provide WOCNCB with my ABC completed continuing ed list for verification of transferrable Nursing continuing education units. My state requires confirmation. Please advise. Thank you.

The WOCNCB is not able to provide education, as a certifying board. Therefore, we do not provide CE credits. However, some state boards of nursing will recognize a specialty certification as having a CE value towards nurse licensure renewal. We recommend you contact the state board to inquire. We hope this addresses your question.
